As many of you know, I’m becoming an iPEC certified coach. In fact—as I state in this video—a week or so back, “I became a coach”. What I’m referencing is a huge shift in identity as I experienced moment after moment where all my giftings, aspirations, story and cosmic vision aligned and internally I identified as coach over any other profession that I’ve been blessed to pursue. These moments are priceless gifts which offer unsiloed, deconstructed glimpses into the essence of the human experience. Here in this space, our most familiar concepts of time, language, geography, religion, etc dissolve into pure boundless energy and what unfolds is an exchange which often defies logic. Words struggle to embody these moments with adequate depth, breadth and force. Until one experiences such a moments for oneself, these words are mere concepts: something you here people talking about, then politely nod one’s head only while pondering over its meaning deeply. The silent contemplation lingers in one’s quiet time. These words are found in every culture, philosophy and, increasingly, dominate our scientific discourse via quantum physics. Words and phrases like kismet, God moments, synchronicity, quantum tunnelling, wormhole, kairos, and—my new favorite courtesy of iPEC—LEVEL 7. These words are powerful, yet feeble, attempts to intellectualize knowledge which is experiential in its essence. Just as only those who have survived near death truly know the contours of this experience, some things—such as it is with these Level 7 moments—have to be lived to be known. The lived evidence is then incontrovertible. The rest of us are left to speculate (until we begin to walk this path for ourselves).
As you will see from this video, coaching is a portable, reproducible and highly accessible vehicle for doing the robust, introspective work of self-actualization and self-mastery. I’m sharing my most recent session with my peer coach, Jessica Matchett, who holds space for me so brilliantly. She understands well that structuring an energetic exchange supportive of the client’s journey to heightened self-awareness is the essential function of a coach.
